More Americans had health coverage in 2021, according to the latest data from the US…
Today marks the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. New York has achieved historic levels of health insurance coverage through NY State of Health, the state’s official health plan Marketplace. NY State of Health serves as a critical safety net for over 6.5 million New Yorkers.
Governor Kathy Hochul issued a press release marking the occasion.
“In Congress, I fought tooth and nail against attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act because it was the right thing to do for millions of Americans,” Governor Hochul said.” As Governor, I remain committed to making sure that every New Yorker can obtain quality, affordable health care.”
The uninsured rate today is less than 5%. New York is closer than ever to realizing the goal of universal health coverage.
