A Single Payer health care system would result in astronomical tax increases for New York taxpayers. The New York Health Act would require more than $250 billion in new taxes. This is in addition to the total taxes New York State currently collects, which was $80.7 billion during 2019-2020. An Albany-run health care system would cause the largest state tax increase in U.S. history!
